It seems like the ball seems to be rolling, you see fellow South Africans it helps to voice our minds.  Make complacency a thing of the past, something lost, forgotten and in its place the indelible feeling of triumph.

Pretoria called me back today to say they are sending a letter to Edenvale Testing Station to find out the reason why they did not issue me a re-test immediately, looks like Edenvale has some explaining to do.

Once that is out of the way, they will issue me another test, somewhere else.  So I have achieved something, hopefully positive.  Maybe I shouldn’t count my chickens, not with all this ‘bird flu’ going around.  Hehehe

So Much To Do, So Little Time

It’s rather perturbing to realise that the older you get, the faster time goes by.  I cannot believe how fast the days feel like to me.  I’m not saying that I am old, as I feel like I’ve only just begun.  I have all this energy and zest for life, but not enough time to do what I wish to do in a day.

Work takes up most of our lives in reality and when there’s that little left for pleasure, that’s taken up by the mundane chores and tasks of our daily life.  Where does it all fit in?  Even when i was unemployed at one stage and staying at home enjoying the leisures, even then was I battling to find the time that seems to be accelerating as we speak.

What the irony and paradox of it all, is that when you not having a good moment, it feels like an eternity and when the moment is one of pure pleasure, it slips through that hour glass, like a wax museum being burnt down in a fire.  A state of mind and what we perceive comes into this questioning once again.  I suppose it is possible to slow down the days by pretending we are just having one of those shitty moments.  Yeah right.

Anyway, nature’s calling and I don’t feel like wearing a cathater, altho that would save time wouldnt it…… just kidding.

It’s like a bad case of ‘Whooping Hoff’ hehe.  Just read a news snippet that apparently David Hasselhoff has been issued a restraining order to keep away from his ex wife.

Not only does the former ‘Baywatch and Knight Rider’ star bombard our emails with those dreadful ‘Hoff’ pics, but now even the ex cannot stand the mere sight of him.  Shame.

I am a firm believer that what you put out into the universe you definitely get back.  The people you surround yourself are often a reflection of who you are at the point of your life.  If you realise people you meet are always negative, have dependancy issues, then you need to start questioning what needs to be changed in your life.

Start the clean-up with self and then once that has been accomplished then and only then can a person start attracting like-minded people into their life.  I have come to the conclusion that i need to start surrounding myself with more positive and well balanced people.  I want my life to be more meaningful, with no excess baggage and just a good positive vibe.

Yes, we all do have issues and quirks that make us unique, but we also need to start growing up and evolving into something special and productive to make this world a better place to live in.

Excuse me if this is all sounding too serious, but I’m having one of my philosophical moments again.  Let’s see if I stick to it this time.

Six Feet Under

Wow! I love that show.  I find it even more gripping and interesting than Desperate Housewives.  My husband thinks I’m morbid, but I beg to differ.  Why is it that people’s perception of death is always a negative one.

I agree everyone has a fear of dying and the one’s that say they dont are only kidding themselves.  Everything in our existence is about perception, the way we choose and allow ourselves to see things.

Think of death as your last retirement party from LIFE ON EARTH, a huge welcoming party with familiar faces smiling and hey even famous people cheering you on.  Laughter coming from the backgound of friends, family and other retirees playing and rewinding your Life’s Made Movie, where you get to be the Guest Star, Action Figure, Comedian etc.

Elvis playing and swaying those hips to ‘Heaven Rocks’ instead of his all time favourite ‘JailHouse Rock’.  Hitler as the designated butler, no only kidding.  He was demoted, way Demoted.

So, any which way you choose to look at it, think positive, as how can something that is inevitable be that bad?

The Truth

Why is it that so many of us human beings deny ourselves the beauty of truth, and I don’t mean the dance club in Midrand.  Yes, sometimes the truth can be painful and downright ugly, but it is the best medicine to correct your life and steer yourself in the right direction again.  I have this inner voice that sometimes speaks to me loud and clear and I know that it must be true, as it’s just something I am good at, this intuition of mine.  Sometimes I chose to ignore it, making excuses and saying that it must be an off day, and what if I am wrong.  That inner voice is never wrong I tell you.  The truth helps us move on with our lives, letting go of the past.  We need it to remain healthy and balanced and therefore happy and at peace.

Rise above Problems

Well from my last entry, I’m sure you all noticed how angry I was with what I have had to endure these past few days. I managed to email my letter of complaint to the Minister of Transport, hoping things would be resolved as quickly as possible. Ha ha, sure thing! An appeal has to now be sent to Pretoria and then take it from there, i mean really now!

Anyhow, I realised how much energy gets wasted when a person becomes angry or negative. Then it dawned on me, this arsehole has caused both my time and money to be wasted, he is not going to take my positive energy with him too!

Today I have made the conscious decision to take up meditation to free my mind from all the clutter and the buzz; to rise above problems, especially when the solution often evades me. To see my situation from a higher perspective, and then I might see a new way out.

I will keep you all posted on my progress and let you know if it really works, because I cannot carry on letting my emotions get the better of me. First lesson of the day, clear thoughts and then picture my hands tightly clasping around his neck, ah much better!. Shu, that worked wonders. I feel better already.

PRECIOUS TIME AND MONEY WASTED

I am sure that there must be many disgruntled and p,,,,off fellow South Africans who like me have gone through something like this.  On Friday, 10 March 2006, I had my Drivers Test in Edenvale.  After a waiting period of three months, effort, time and money that was put into all those months before my test, to ensure I would pass, I was met by the wrath of Mr Personality and Mr Friendly himself: e Jerry.

I had begun my test wonderfully, with no points deducted.  I had remembered all my checks, clutch control etc.  I then preceded to the incline and got my car ready, with the road wet from the rain, my wheels spun a bit.  I did not roll and cause any danger to anyone.  To my shock and disbelief, this Test Official discontinued my test immediately, saying that it was an instant fail!

However, little did he know, who he was dealing with.  Upset by this, I managed to get hold of a copy of the Government Gazette off the internet.  In Black and White, it there stipulates that by no means is an applicant to be failed for such an act.  He was supposed to mark me down, not fail me.  It says, should the vehicle roll, a circle shall be drawn around the black block “Roll” and the test shall be discontinued.  It then says, during moving off, the applicant shall not cause the wheels of the vehicle to spin.  Should the applicant do so he/she shall be penalised for:

My question is then why did this man choose to fail me?  In my opinion I think they certainly do take chances, thinking that we will complacently accept this unjust kind of behaviour.  Fellow Citizens, do yourself a favour and get clued up on all the information that is available to you, know your rights.  Do not allow these unqualified people to take advantage of you anymore!  We spend so much of our money and time with all this corruption and nonsense.  And what really grates my liver, is the fact that people who really cannot drive and cause a danger to us on the roads, seem to get away with almost anything!

I have taken this matter up with the Minister of Transport Mr J.T. Radebe, as he is the one who wrote and approved the Government Gazette.  I am now awaiting an appeal to re-do my test in the appropriate manner.  This is still an inconvenience and both my money and time was wasted due to this Test Official’s bad attitude and behaviour.

LETS TALK ABOUT LOVE

I think that there are four different types of Loves, namely fraternal, familial, intellectual and physical. I reckon if you find that Utopia Love which embodies all four, then hold on tightly, because this does not happen often, or at all for that matter. I think a soul mate is that special person which embodies all the different types of love. Okay maybe not fraternal, because I could not imagine being intimitate with a brother or sister - Gross!

Anyhow, maybe that’s why there are so many couples out there still searching for what seems to be missing with their current love. Always searching for the unattainable. I say look within, work on your relationship with your current partner, because the grass isnt always as green on the other side as you might think it to be.

We fall in Love By Chance

We stay in Love By Work

And We Fall Out of Love by Choice
