Dear Fellow Bloggers

I am writing to you today in all my fervor, to say the least, that I am disappointed in not receiving any of your anticipated comments.

This is causing me much apathy and discouragement, as I feel that perhaps my writing is just not good enough or that maybe my life not that intriguing.

I could write about my drunken escapades, the indelible moments of my wild party days, the ups and downs of married life, but does that not all sound too cliche.

I started this Blog to talk mostly of life and the mysteries and to talk more on a spiritual level, but then i thought maybe it’s all a bit too serious. Then I tried putting a bit of humour into it, that didn’t work either. I also attempted to talk on more serious issues, world affairs to no avail.

This is all starting to get up my nose and tickle my nostril hairs. I have even pondered that perhaps most of my visitors are from around the globe and have no clue on how to write or read English. So …. to all you foreigners out there F.I.F.O (fit in or fuck off)….just kidding ;-) just desperately looking to get a response.

To Blog or Not to Blog…… That is my Question.

Baby Its Cold Outside

I’m freezing my tits off again, i need to be thawed out.  My place of work altho interesting at times, definitely does not have the comfort factor.  We have a small office at the back of my boss’s house, which has a server there as well.  My boss insists on the aircon being so high that i literally have to wear gloves, ear muffs and socks.

At least now that Winter is a ‘knocking at our doors’, i’ve been fully prepped, ready in all my armour.  I sometimes wonder when I dont’ know really what to write about on my blog, is that a case of writer’s block or maybe that my fucking fingers are just too frozen to type.  Typer’s block, block of frozen fucking ice.

At least this state of frozen affairs has given me something to mumble about on this crisp, wet and gloomy Monday morning.

Reasons to Welcome Winter:

1. Hot Chocolate and Marshies

2. Gluwein in front of the fire-place

3. Reason to snuggle close up to ur loved one

4. More nights spent indoors consisting of hot passionate sex

5. Excuse to pig out and eat to ur hearts content, not worrying about the extra kilos

6. Have our own set of leg warmers, by not shaving at all.  (ok that’s gross)

7. In the Fashion sense, i prefer to dress minimally, so that’s not one of the welcoming reasons of Winter.

8. No insects, espesh Mozzies!

That’s all for now, coz im starting to get Typer’s Block again……….. Brrrrrrrr

Boss Swap?

I’m sure most readers out there are familiar with a reality show called Wife Swap, where the wives, mothers of the household get to switch lives for a week to see what its like living another complete opposite life.

Well, now they have come up with Boss Swap, which I think is actually a brilliant idea.  It really demonstrates the bosses weaknesses and strengths once they have crossed over to unfamiliar territory.  I feel that a good manager/ boss is very fundamental to having a succesful business with hard working and motivated staff.

Take popular franchises for example, i.e. MacDonalds, Nandos, there are some that offer the best service and then the others that u would rather run a mile from.  I dont blame the staff behind the counters or the cooks, but rather the manager running the show.

Often, I have found that when I have not been satisfied with the level of service, I then lay my complaints with the manager, only to be received by someone who is just plain lazy and stupid.  And that’s what got me thinking, well no wonder the service is where it’s at.

Then you have a Corporate environment with managers who also have no clue in managing or motivating their staff.  Most of the time, they are attending lavish lunches, sitting in boardroom meetings pretending to look interested and offering a few inputs here and there.  The irony of it all, is that there are so many tests a candidate has to pass before getting their foot in the door, but how many managers actually do proper psychometric tests on being a good manager who knows how to motivate etc.  I think it is more based along the lines of how many diplomas and other achievements he/she has.

I think that they should bring a ‘Boss Swap’ to South Africa, so we could all have a good laugh to really see how things are run here.

Give Them A Voice

Last nights child abuse segment on Carte Blanche shocked and disheartened me. The two most recent stories to date on two children who both died from the severe beatings they had endured. Little Jordan who died from a head injury, his mother and her lesbian lover have now been convicted of first degree murder. Nikita who also had died the next morning after her father had beaten her and then locked her in the bathroom, to be discovered the next day by her grandmother. Both these stories brought me to tears. What is this world coming to I ask myself? Why is there so much affliction and evil and what makes me even more mad is that the system is what seems to be failing us. What bewildered me was the fact that women involved in domestic violence have more protection against violence than small helpless children. The young voices of today therefore cannot be protected the way they are supposed to be. It’s as though the department of social welfare have turned a blind eye, saying it’s due to not having adequate funds. How absurd to think we can and must accept an excuse like this. I just cannot swallow or digest an excuse like that. No-one should. Justice must be done to eradicate these barbarians from our society. We have to stand together to make sure we help give the muted children’s voices back.

Getting Somewhere

It seems like the ball seems to be rolling, you see fellow South Africans it helps to voice our minds.  Make complacency a thing of the past, something lost, forgotten and in its place the indelible feeling of triumph.

Pretoria called me back today to say they are sending a letter to Edenvale Testing Station to find out the reason why they did not issue me a re-test immediately, looks like Edenvale has some explaining to do.

Once that is out of the way, they will issue me another test, somewhere else.  So I have achieved something, hopefully positive.  Maybe I shouldn’t count my chickens, not with all this ‘bird flu’ going around.  Hehehe

So Much To Do, So Little Time

It’s rather perturbing to realise that the older you get, the faster time goes by.  I cannot believe how fast the days feel like to me.  I’m not saying that I am old, as I feel like I’ve only just begun.  I have all this energy and zest for life, but not enough time to do what I wish to do in a day.

Work takes up most of our lives in reality and when there’s that little left for pleasure, that’s taken up by the mundane chores and tasks of our daily life.  Where does it all fit in?  Even when i was unemployed at one stage and staying at home enjoying the leisures, even then was I battling to find the time that seems to be accelerating as we speak.

What the irony and paradox of it all, is that when you not having a good moment, it feels like an eternity and when the moment is one of pure pleasure, it slips through that hour glass, like a wax museum being burnt down in a fire.  A state of mind and what we perceive comes into this questioning once again.  I suppose it is possible to slow down the days by pretending we are just having one of those shitty moments.  Yeah right.

Anyway, nature’s calling and I don’t feel like wearing a cathater, altho that would save time wouldnt it…… just kidding.

It’s like a bad case of ‘Whooping Hoff’ hehe.  Just read a news snippet that apparently David Hasselhoff has been issued a restraining order to keep away from his ex wife.

Not only does the former ‘Baywatch and Knight Rider’ star bombard our emails with those dreadful ‘Hoff’ pics, but now even the ex cannot stand the mere sight of him.  Shame.

I am a firm believer that what you put out into the universe you definitely get back.  The people you surround yourself are often a reflection of who you are at the point of your life.  If you realise people you meet are always negative, have dependancy issues, then you need to start questioning what needs to be changed in your life.

Start the clean-up with self and then once that has been accomplished then and only then can a person start attracting like-minded people into their life.  I have come to the conclusion that i need to start surrounding myself with more positive and well balanced people.  I want my life to be more meaningful, with no excess baggage and just a good positive vibe.

Yes, we all do have issues and quirks that make us unique, but we also need to start growing up and evolving into something special and productive to make this world a better place to live in.

Excuse me if this is all sounding too serious, but I’m having one of my philosophical moments again.  Let’s see if I stick to it this time.

Six Feet Under

Wow! I love that show.  I find it even more gripping and interesting than Desperate Housewives.  My husband thinks I’m morbid, but I beg to differ.  Why is it that people’s perception of death is always a negative one.

I agree everyone has a fear of dying and the one’s that say they dont are only kidding themselves.  Everything in our existence is about perception, the way we choose and allow ourselves to see things.

Think of death as your last retirement party from LIFE ON EARTH, a huge welcoming party with familiar faces smiling and hey even famous people cheering you on.  Laughter coming from the backgound of friends, family and other retirees playing and rewinding your Life’s Made Movie, where you get to be the Guest Star, Action Figure, Comedian etc.

Elvis playing and swaying those hips to ‘Heaven Rocks’ instead of his all time favourite ‘JailHouse Rock’.  Hitler as the designated butler, no only kidding.  He was demoted, way Demoted.

So, any which way you choose to look at it, think positive, as how can something that is inevitable be that bad?

The Truth

Why is it that so many of us human beings deny ourselves the beauty of truth, and I don’t mean the dance club in Midrand.  Yes, sometimes the truth can be painful and downright ugly, but it is the best medicine to correct your life and steer yourself in the right direction again.  I have this inner voice that sometimes speaks to me loud and clear and I know that it must be true, as it’s just something I am good at, this intuition of mine.  Sometimes I chose to ignore it, making excuses and saying that it must be an off day, and what if I am wrong.  That inner voice is never wrong I tell you.  The truth helps us move on with our lives, letting go of the past.  We need it to remain healthy and balanced and therefore happy and at peace.
